Biography
Born March 26th 1988, I'm still pretty young and naive when it comes to the music industry but since I was 16 I've been caught up in the whirlwind of dance music and have seen many fantastic acts live. I DJ in my free time and enjoy mixing new records. With the knowledge of the music industry and DJing, I love writing reviews and researching on record labels and finding out the roots of different music types.
I'm very passionate about music and I work in a nightclub so I hear new tunes every night. The Music Industry is a fairly ruthless place with it being very much a dog-eat-dog world, with people using each other as stepping stones to fame.
From experience, I've found the younger generation of DJs breaking through have a hell of a lot of potential but a lot focus solely on their mixing and not on crowd reaction and what the crowd want which is why there aren't a large number of young DJs booked around the world. The false perception of DJing is that it's all about playing the biggest and best songs seamlessly. This is far from the truth. In my opinion, if you're not feeling the music and not enjoying yourself, DJing isn't for you. DJs are there for the crowd and if the crowd aren't enjoying what you're doing and aren't enjoying your set, you're not a DJ.
I've seen various different acts performing live including Faithless, Matt Darey, Dave Pearce as well as experiencing exciting upcoming DJs around my hometown including Kieran Brindley and Carl Hannaghan. I find it fascinating watching different DJs and from the love of music, I decided to get into writing down my reviews and my experiences which is where we are now with this section of the website.
As well as the music industry, there are various other media sections here that are constantly updated with new reviews and the like. These are broken down into simple sections including video games, films; both classic and new and CDs.
Favourite Genres Of Music
My interests in music vary wildly from tune to tune. My favourite genres of music are that of Trance and Rock music. I'm a very open minded person and will listen to anything with a keen ear. I enjoy writing reviews and articles on the dance scene and like to scout out new and upcoming talent as well as seeing live bands and talented DJs locally. I am very passionate about music and find it fascinating seeing the progression and death of different genres.
What To Expect From This Section
A lot of the opinions expressed in this section are my own opinions and thoughts and could offend some people. The opinions are solely my own and do not reflect the quality of the products.
On each section there are reviews which are broken up into date order and all feature a monthly updated column 'What's Hot, What's Not'.
The Music section is the most in-depth section at the moment as I've done the most work on that compared to the rest of the sections. Within the music section there is also a preview of 2008 with DJs and genres to watch out for and a review of the music industry in 2007.
