Brief Review
The caption for this abomination of a film is 'Every accident has consequences'. Yes. Yes it does and that accident was picking up this film. The laughable cast aren't even likeable and the only saving grace for this film is that it only takes up 90 minutes of your time to watch. Considering its meant to be a horror, I found myself laughing all the way through. Must do better!
Full Review
Hit & Run is one of the worst films I've ever seen and that's not even an exaggeration. I can't stress enough how bad this film is, let alone the non-sensical plot. The plot revolves around a moronic teen that gets drunk at a party and runs over an innocent victim. She then proceeds to beat him repeatedly in the head with a golf club when he turns out to be alive and then buries him. Turns out he's not really dead as he stalks the teen and tries to get vengeance for the disgusting attack. So suddenly the innocent man she buried is the bad guy? Aside from this, there's nothing that hasn't been done already (and better) in other horrors.
The acting is below par from everyone involved and there's absolutely no likeable element to any of the actors and to be honest you'll find yourself not even caring if the protagonist even lives. What makes this film worse is that the protagonist tries to impersonate every damsel-in-distress horror cliché but to such an embarrassing degree its cringing to watch.
The film feels like a college student's project and the photography and cut work is so off-the-wall and different it doesn't fit the picture at all. If the film was at all appealing, it might have been used to good effect to demonstrate the tense nature of the situation but right from the off its hard to care about a teen that drinks and drives, let alone commits murder on an innocent victim she herself ran down.
The fact that this film almost glorifies drinking and driving and manslaughter by portraying the protagonist, as clumsy and dim-witted as she is, as the victim in the whole situation is disgusting. This film shouldn't even have been released let alone been put on DVD. This budget horror is definitely up there as one of the worst films ever.
I'm finding it hard to come up with any positives at all so I've given up altogether with it. The only saving grace is that this film is only 90 minutes long. The acting is dreadful, camera work is shaky and unprofessional and the whole film feels like a poor patchwork of horror clichés. Don't waste your money buying this, you'll regret it. Watching paint dry is more enjoyable than this disgusting glorification of drinking and driving.
